CareerSculpt works with secondary schools to deliver inclusive, practical CEIAG and employability provision that supports informed decision-making, confident transitions and positive post-16 outcomes.
Our programmes help young people understand who they are, explore their options and develop the skills and behaviours needed for further education, training or work. Sessions are interactive and activity-based, using discussion, real-world scenarios and practical tasks to keep young people engaged and build confidence around choices and transitions.
Supporting Young People Across Secondary School
Year 7: Discover - Introducing Careers & Building Curiosity
In Year 7, careers learning focuses on helping young people settle into secondary school while beginning to explore the idea of work and future possibilities in a low-pressure way. We support young people to:
Begin conversations about careers and the world of work
Explore different roles through real people, practical examples and real-world insight
Recognise their interests, strengths and emerging skills
Build confidence talking about what they enjoy and what they are good at
At this stage, the focus is on curiosity, confidence and widening horizons — not decisions.
Years 8–9: Explore & Prepare – Exploration & Pathway Awareness
As young people progress through KS3, we support them to develop a more rounded understanding of careers and pathways by:
Exploring a wider range of careers and routes
Understanding how subjects — including STEM subjects — connect to future options
Developing self-awareness around skills, interests and strengths
Building awareness to support informed subject option choices
This stage helps young people make sense of their options while keeping pathways open.
Years 10–11: Transition & Readiness – Decisions & Next Steps
As young people approach post-16 transitions, our focus shifts towards preparation and confidence. We support young people to:
Understand post-16 pathways (A-Levels, T-Levels, Apprenticeships, Further Education (FE) and work-based routes)
Explore labour-market-relevant pathways, including STEM and technical routes
Prepare for work experience and employer expectations
Develop employability skills such as communication, resilience and professionalism
